Professional Semester Two |
For this practicum, I was placed at Ralph McCall School in Airdrie, Alberta. I was given the opportunity to teach both grade 2 and 3 during my time, with two incredible Teacher-Mentors. I split my time between the two classrooms in order to learn and develop my craft within different environments and with different groups of students.

I am beyond grateful to have been given this experience and to have worked with so many caring and supportive staff members from RMS. In addition to the incredible staff, the students stole my heart instantly; these kiddos were an incredible group, and I am so blessed to have encountered each one of them. Although I was only with them for a short amount of time, I was able to learn from each of them as individuals and learn from them as a group. These kiddos have taught me so much about the importance of a good teacher, and they have helped me to become a better teacher already.
I will take the lessons I have learned throughout this short two weeks and apply them to my next practicum, and my future classroom. I am so lucky to have been placed in both of these classrooms, and I am incredibly excited to continue my teaching journey with this experience in my back pocket. |
The end of this practicum came with many mixed emotions. I, as well as many other PS2 students this semester, were prematurely pulled from our practicum placements as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please take this into consideration when viewing the artifacts and evaluation for this practicum;
I was only able to complete 2 weeks of this practicum, and a small handful of lessons. It was heartbreaking to leave the classroom so abruptly, and leave without a proper goodbye to my students. I will forever hold this experience close to my heart. |
